News: 4 injured, including 2 children after driver runs stop sign causing crash

HURLEY, MO – Four people were taken to the hospital following a two vehicle crash in Stone County early Wednesday evening.

The collision happened as Xavier A. Cook, 30, was driving southbound when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Route A and Route AA, reports the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He drove into the path of a westbound Mitsubishi Outlander and crashed into it.

Three occupants were in the Mitsubishi including Christopher A. Helmin, 40, and two children aged 3 and 6.

Everyone involved was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield with non-life-threatening injuries.
