News: Kansas City man killed, 3 others seriously injured after I-35 collision

LENEXA, KS – One man died and three people suffered serious injuries after a two-vehicle collision on I-35 northbound early Sunday morning.

The fatal crash happened on I-35 just north of 87th Street in Lenexa around 1:55 a.m. reports WIBW.

Martin Perez-Trejo, 28, of Kansas City, was driving a Chevrolet Cruze northbound on I-35 at a high rate of speed when he crashed into the rear of a Ford pickup truck. The impact caused both occupants of the Ford to be ejected from their vehicle.

Perez-Trejo was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in his vehicle, 27-year-old Jasmine L. Alcala, was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

The occupants in the Ford pickup, Tracy B. Kintzelle, 48, and William J. Hansett, 33, were both seriously injured and taken to the same hospital.
