News: 30-year-old man killed in three-vehicle crash in Excelsior Springs

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, MO – A 30-year-old Excelsior Springs man was killed in a three-vehicle crash on WB U.S. 69 at N. Jesse James Rd. on Monday morning.

KSHB reports Richard A. Dobbins was traveling west on U.S. 69 in a 2000 Dodge when he failed to stop at a lighted intersection. He hit a northbound 2012 Nissan on the passenger side as well as the front of a 2019 Chevrolet truck. The impact caused the Dodge to overturn into a ditch.

Dobbins was ejected from the Dodge. He was not wearing a seat belt. Local authorities pronounced him dead at the crash scene.

No other injuries were reported.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
