News: Woman seriously injured in crash in Cameron; driver held on multiple charges.

CAMERON, MO – A teenager faces multiple charges after a wreck that injured him and a passenger Wednesday afternoon, according to NorthwestMoInfo.

The wreck occurred close to 1:45 p.m. near Grand Avenue and US 36 when a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Isreal Mariano drove through a ditch and crossed over into the oncoming lane before colliding with a highway sign in the median. The vehicle then travelled across traffic once more to finally crash into an embankment.

Responders took both Mariano and a passenger in the vehicle, 20-year-old Naomi Mariano, to Cameron Regional Hospital. Isreal sustained minor injuries, and Naomi was treated for serious injuries.

Mariano’s charges included DWI and resisting arrest.

No other injuries are reported in the accident.
