News: Two children killed, five people hospitalized in SUV vs Semi crash in New Madrid
NEW MADRID, MO – A crash with an 18-wheeler resulted in the deaths of two children and the hospitalization of three others on Friday afternoon.
KCTV reports that the accident took place close to 12:10 p.m. on Interstate 55 just south of Marston when a Ford Expedition pulled into the path of a northbound 18-wheeler.
Two male children in the Ford, one 11 and the other 14, were killed in the accident.
The driver, identified as 34-year-old Startisha Brown, was hospitalized with moderate injuries, as was a 14-year-old female passenger. An adult passenger, 30-year-old Tatrelisha M. Johnson, was also hospitalized for injuries of an unspecified severity.
Responders were forced to extricate all seven of the Ford’s passengers upon arrival.
No other injuries are reported in the accident.
This accident is still under investigation.
