News: 3 injured after driver fails to stop at stop sign on MO 210
RICHMOND, MO – Three people were injured after a vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of MO 210 and Southpoint Dr. on Sunday afternoon.
Nicholas C. Weisz, 20, was traveling north on Southpoint Dr. in a 2014 Nissan Altima when he failed to stop at the stop sign at MO 210, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol. The Nissan struck a 2020 Kia Optima, driven by 32-year-old Shawn A. Scates, that was traveling west on MO 210 around 4:52 p.m.
Weisz was transported to Truman Medical Center for serious injuries.
Scates and a passenger in the Nissan, 19-year-old David Jackson, refused treatment at the crash scene for minor injuries.
Neither Weisz or Jackson were wearing seat belts. Scates was wearing a seat belt.
Both vehicles were totaled.
