News: 4 injured in crash while fleeing Independence police

INDEPENDENCE, MO – Four people were hurt when a carjacking suspect caused a major head-on collision in Independence on Wednesday.

According to KCTV, the suspect carjacked the victim at gunpoint in the “square area” then promptly fled the scene.

Shortly after officers terminated the pursuit, the suspect was involved in a head-on collision near Noland Road and Lynn Court at about 12:15 p.m.

In total, four people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash. Two individuals were sent to the hospital for treatment.

The driver was arrested after attempting to flee on foot.
