News: 3 injured in crash on I-29 caused by wrong-way driver
KANSAS CITY, MO – Three people were injured when a wrong-way driver caused a collision on I-29 in Tiffany Springs earlier this month, The Landmark reports.
Jason N. Baird, 21, was driving south in the northbound lanes of I-29 near Tiffany Springs Parkway on January 9 when he slammed head-on into a 2007 Hyundai, which was subsequently struck by a third vehicle after the initial crash.
The driver of the Hyundai suffered moderate injuries, while a passenger was more seriously hurt. They have been identified as Elise K. Edwards, 20, and Makayla L. Rikli, 23, respectively.
Baird, the wrong-way driver, also sustained serious injuries. All three were transported to North Kansas City Hospital.
