News: Fatal car crash near Jefferson City kills 2

OSAGE COUNTY, MO – Two people died in a head-on collision on US 50 near Jefferson City last Friday, Jan. 21.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kale S. Durr, 22, was traveling west in a Ford E450 near Route N behind a tractor trailer. He made an improper pass while attempting to get ahead of the tractor and struck a Chevrolet Silverado head-on. Zachary M. Patchin, 28, was driving the Chevrolet eastbound on Highway 50.

After the collision, the Ford overturned onto the south side of the roadway. The Chevrolet caught fire on impact and burned completely.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. The condition of the tractor trailer operator is unknown.
