News: 5 injured in crash involving semi-truck on I-29

KANSAS CITY, MO – Five people were injured after being hit by a semi on I-29 southbound near the Faucett exit on Friday, Jan. 28

The semi-driver, Johnathon A. Nichols, 32, was traveling behind a Nissan Rogue on the interstate when he realized the driver in front of him was driving slower than he was. He swerved in an attempt to avoid hitting the vehicle, but crashed into its rear, reports News-Press Now.

After the impact, Nichols swerved off the roadway and over-corrected, leading the semi to tip over into southbound traffic.

The driver of the Nissan Rogue, along with another adult passenger, and three young children were all transported to Mosaic Life Care with minor injuries.

It is unclear whether Nichols, the semi-driver, was injured in the accident.
