News: Fatal collision involving wrong-way driver on I-49 kills 2

KANSAS CITY, MO – Two people died in a car crash that happened on I-49 southbound near Harrisonville earlier this afternoon.

A driver in a Toyota Highlander was traveling north in the southbound lanes near the Route J exit, reports KSHB. They struck a silver SUV on the interstate.

Both the Toyota’s driver and driver of the SUV were killed in the collision.

The accident closed the interstate near Harrisonville for several hours. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
