News: Major injuries sustained by 6-year-old and mother in Kansas City crash

KANSAS CITY, MO – A woman and her 6-year-old were hospitalized following a serious crash on I-435 Wednesday evening.

According to FOX4, the crash happened around 6 p.m. on I-435 just south of Eastwood.

A 38-year-old woman, with her 6-year-old child in tow, was traveling southbound on the interstate when their vehicle crashed into the back of a Chevrolet flatbed tow truck.

Both were rushed to an area hospital with the woman sustaining serious injuries. The 6-year-old is in critical condition.

The tow truck driver was not injured in the crash.
