News: 1 killed in two-vehicle Independence collision

INDEPENDENCE, MO – A person died after a crash involving two vehicles on eastbound I-70 this past Sunday, reports FOX4.

The collision happened around 7:15 p.m. on eastbound I-70 just west of Noland Road. A driver in a Ford van collided with a Volkswagon Passat and then struck a barrier.

The Ford driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Volkswagen was not injured.

Authorities are investigating what led up to the crash.
