News: 2 city workers killed, 1 critically injured after trash truck rollover

KANSAS CITY, MO – Two people died and another sustained critical injury in a crash off I-435 Tuesday morning, reports KSHB.

The Kansas City, Missouri employees were traveling in a trash truck on I-435 northbound near Front Street when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The truck hit a concrete barrier, rolled over, and caught fire after impact.

One of the workers died at the scene of the accident. Two others were transported to an area hospital.

A second worker later died at the hospital. The third person is listed in critical condition.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. Police are investigating the cause of the incident.
