News: Tesla malfunctions, killing 1 in three-vehicle crash

KANSAS CITY, MO – A man died after a Tesla caused a crash on I-70 on Sunday night, reports FOX4.

Terry Siegel was driving in a Tesla when a mechanical issue caused the vehicle to stop in the center lane of I-70 in Independence. Two other cars crashed with the Tesla in the roadway.

Siegel was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the Tesla was transported to an area hospital. The occupants of the other two vehicles were uninjured.

Investigators are hoping to get more information after pulling data from the vehicle’s computer system.
