News: Kansas City mother and 9-year-old son killed in Riley Co. crash

RILEY COUNTY, KS – A Kansas City woman and her son both passed away after a single-vehicle crash in Riley County on Monday afternoon.

According to KSNT, Cornelia Jasper, 42 and her 9-year-old son were traveling in a Dodge Stratus when their vehicle left the roadway for “unknown reasons”, stuck a ditch, and crashed into a tree. The accident happened at 6143 South 32nd Street near West 61st Street in Manhattan.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
