News: Woman seriously injured after police chase ends in crash

KANSAS CITY, MO – A woman suffered serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash following a police chase in Kansas City Saturday night.

According to KSHB, the collision happened on 7th Street near 212 South Tremont Street around 10:20 p.m.

A 17-year-old was fleeing police officers in a Jeep Cherokee heading north on 7th Street. Five other teens were occupants in the Jeep. The teen driver struck a Dodge Avenger that was also traveling northbound.

53-year-old Yvonne Lawson of Kansas City, Kansas, was driving the Dodge when she was struck, causing the vehicle to go off the roadway and hit a concrete wall.

She was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.

No word on whether charges were filed was immediately provided.
