News: Driver hospitalized after vehicle hydroplanes, crashes on I-70

KANSAS CITY, MO – An Odessa man was sent to the hospital after a single-vehicle crash on I-70 near Oak Grove on Sunday morning.

According to a report by MSHP, the accident took place shortly after 3 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-70 near the exit to Route F.

Police say 27-year-old Michael Payne lost control of his 2003 Ford when it hydroplaned on the freeway. The vehicle then struck a concrete bridge abutment.

Payne was taken to Liberty Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
