News: Woman killed in hit-and-run crash in Manheim Park
KANSAS CITY, MO – A woman was killed in ah hit-and-run collision in south Kansas City last Friday.
According to Fox 4 Kansas City, 47-year-old Lanita Hart was seen arguing with 69-year-old Richard Douglas Jr. in a parking lot near East 40th Street and Troost Avenue. Surveillance video from the scene shows Douglas hitting Hart with his vehicle after she bent down to manipulate the front tire.
Douglas’s vehicle dragged Hart across the parking lot, she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Douglas turned himself in later on, telling police he did not know Hart, and that she approached him saying he owed her $40. He is due in court on May 2nd.
