News: 18-year-old motorcyclist sustains serious injuries in SB I-470 crash
LEE’S SUMMIT, MO – An 18-year-old male motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in a crash on southbound I-470 on Saturday night.
The crash occurred south of Lakewood around 7:30 p.m., according to Missouri State Highway Patrol. Ryan P. Colby, of Kansas City, was traveling south on I-470 on a 2014 Kawasaki motorcycle when he rear-ended the tire of an unknown vehicle. The impact caused the motorcycle to overturn.
Colby was transported to Centerpoint for serious injuries.
The cause of the crash is unknown.
It is unclear if anyone was injured in the other vehicle or if they fled the scene.
