News: 81-year-old woman seriously injured in Cass County accident

CASS COUNTY, MO – An 81-year-old Pleasant Hill woman sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash on E. 227th St. at Camp Branch Rd. on Tuesday evening.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 2016 Jeep, driven by Marissa A. Duane, was traveling west on E. 227th St. Norman J. Lewis was traveling east on E. 227th St. in a 2005 Mercury when she traveled into the path of the Jeep at 5:44 p.m.

Lewis was transported to Belton Regional Hospital for serious injuries. Duane was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

The Mercury was totaled and the Jeep sustained moderate damages.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
