News: 9-year-old girl killed in Douglas County hit-and-run crash
EUDORA, KS – A 9-year-old girl was killed in a hit-and-run crash involving a motorcycle and delivery van on Sunday morning.
According to FOX4, a 54-year-old man was driving a motorcycle with a 9-year-old female passenger when a white delivery van struck the motorcycle on E. 1900 Rd at Old K-10.
Both the driver and passenger were transported to a local hospital. The minor sustained serious injuries and died in the hospital. She was wearing a helmet. The driver sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Local authorities report the van that struck the motorcycle fled the scene. They suspect it is a 2013-2019 white Ford Transit Connect XL Model, and most likely a 2018-2019 year. A front bumper from the van was left behind at the crash scene.
Police continue to investigate the crash and are searching for the van.
