News: Multiple crashes block NB I-49 in Belton

BELTON, MO – Multiple crashes involving at least nine vehicles blocked NB I-49 near E. 163rd St. on Wednesday afternoon.

KMBC reports the crashes occurred around 1:34 p.m. and involved at least six semis, an animal transport trailer, a wrecker truck, and a Ford Explorer.

Several vehicles traveled off the interstate to avoid collision or due to an impact of hitting another vehicle.

It is unclear if anyone was injured in the accident.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
