News: Truck hydroplanes on MO Route 13, 1 killed, 3 seriously injured

DEEPWATER, MO – A truck hydroplaned on NB MO-13 killing a 21-year-old Kansas City woman and seriously injuring three people on Wednesday afternoon.

A 2021 Dodge Ram was traveling north on MO-13 just south of MO-52 when the driver, 34-year-old Ramone Wooten, lost control due to wet road conditions, according to KCTV5. The truck hydroplaned, traveled off the road, and overturned.

Two people were ejected from the truck. It is unclear who was ejected from the truck.

Passenger Simone Johnson was pronounced dead at the crash scene. She was not wearing a seat belt.

Wooten and two passengers were transported to a local hospital for serious injuries. The injured passengers were identified as 21-year-old London Johnson and 21-year-old Tyerese Sims. Wooten, Johnson, and Sims were not wearing seat belts.
