News: Police investigating three-vehicle crash in Independence, 4 injured
INDEPENDENCE, MO – Four people sustained injuries in a three-vehicle crash on EB Highway 40 on Friday morning.
A 2009 Ford Explorer was traveling east on Highway 40 when it struck a 2011 Chevrolet Camero that was stopped for unknown reasons on the highway at E. 35th Terrace S., according to Fox4 News. The impact pushed the Chevrolet into traffic where it hit a 2004 Toyota Camry.
Police report four people were injured in the crash that occurred around 10 a.m.
The driver and a passenger of the Chevrolet were transported to a local hospital for serious injuries. Both the drivers of the Ford and Toyota were transported to local hospitals for minor injuries.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
