News: 2 adults, 2 children injured in Henry Co. accident
LEESVILLE, MO – Two adults and two children were injured in a collision on EB Missouri 7 at SE Hwy U on Tuesday morning.
Doreen M. Gibbons, 58, was traveling north on SE Hwy U in a 2021 Kia when she failed to yield at a stop sign, Missouri State Highway Patrol reports. She drove into the path of an eastbound 2012 Ford, driven by 52-year-old Danna L. Leimkuehler, traveling on Missouri 7. The Ford struck the Kia around 7:52 a.m.
Gibbons was airlifted to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence for serious injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.
Leimkuehler and two children in her vehicle were transported to Cass Regional Medical Center for minor injuries. The children, ages 0 and 4, were wearing seat belts but Leimkuehler was not.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damages.
