News: Teen injured in hit and run on 1-35

Kansas City, MO – A teenager was taken to the hospital after a hit and run on I-35 Monday afternoon, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at 4:35 p.m. on southbound I-35. Authorities report that a southbound vehicle changed lanes and was struck by a 2015 Toyota Prius.

The Prius driven by a 16-year-old female crashed into a guardrail and continued off of the highway.

The second vehicle did not stop and is at this time unidentified.

A 15-year-old passenger in the Prius was taken to North Kansas City Hospital with minor injuries.
