News: Pedestrian hospitalized after hit-and-run on Independence

KANSAS CITY, MO. – A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by two vehicles on Independence Avenue, FOX4KC reports.

According to police, the unidentified woman was near the intersection of Independence Avenue near Indiana Avenue when she was struck by a westbound Toyota 4Runner.

The woman was thrown from the westbound lanes of Independence into the opposite lane where she was struck by a second vehicle.

The woman was taken to the hospital with what are reported to be life-threatening injuries.

The second vehicle drove away from the scene without stopping. The vehicle and its driver remain unidentified at this time.

Kansas City police are currently searching for the hit-and-run driver.
