News: Semi-Truck pile-up causes fire, injuries, delays on I-670

KANSAS CITY, MO – Three people were hospitalized after a semi-truck collision that caused a massive fire on I-670 Monday, KSHB reports.

The crash involved a Peterbilt semi, a Kenworth semi, and a Kenworth oil truck.  According to KCPD, the incident occurred when the Peterbilt rear-ended the Kenworth semi.

This collision forced the Kenworth semi to rear-end the oil truck in front of it.

The Peterbilt truck caught fire in the initial collision and was completely in flames by the time responders reached the scene.

Ambulances took a minor and the driver of the Peterbilt and a driver from the Kenworth semi to the hospital. The severity of their injuries was not released.
