News: Elderly man injured on Pleasant Prairie Road by driver avoiding crash
NAPOLEON, MO – An elderly pedestrian was seriously injured on Pleasant Prairie Road when he was struck by a pickup truck on Tuesday night, according to NorthwestMoInfo.
The incident occurred at 8 p.m when a northbound Chevrolet Silverado attempted to avoid another vehicle, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The driver of the Silverado, an unnamed 17-year-old from Wellington, overcorrected from their initial swerve to cross the median and then back off the right side of road. There the vehicle struck several obstacles including a mailbox, utility pole, and the injury victim.
80-year-old Eldon E. Davolt of Napoleon was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center. He was treated for serious injuries.
No other injuries were reported in the accident.
