News: Pedestrian killed on I-435 while running from accident
KANSAS CITY, MO – A man was struck by a car and killed while fleeing the scene of another wreck on foot late Tuesday night.
According to FOX4 KC, the initial crash occurred close to midnight at I-435 near 23rd Street when a Toyota RAV-4 struck the median and rolled over.
A passenger in that vehicle took off at a run heading northbound on the highway.
He was later struck by a Chevrolet Spark and then a Toyota Camry. The drivers of these vehicles remained to cooperate with responders.
The man was killed in the accident. The driver of the RAV-4 was hospitalized and treated for non life-threatening injuries.
Neither of the two other drivers involved in the accident reported any injuries.
There is no word on what caused the initial crash. Neither of the drivers that struck the pedestrian were suspected of impairment.
