News: One child critical, one driver seriously injured after crash on I-49

KANSAS CITY, MO – Two people, one 10 years old, were injured in Interstate 49 when a vehicle lost control Thursday morning.

KCTV reports the crash occurred close to 4 a.m. when the driver of a southbound Ford Fusion lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons. The vehicle struck a guard rail, then a concrete median, and then finally drove off the road.

The child and the driver were both taken to the hospital. The 10-year-old passenger’s injuries were reported as critical, while the driver sustained serious injuries.

There is no word on the circumstances that caused the crash.
