News: Pileup on I-435 results in one man’s death when he falls from median

KANSAS CITY, MO – A man died in the aftermath of a four-car crash on Interstate 435 when he fell off the median on Wednesday morning.

KSHB reports that the initial four-vehicle crash occurred close to 5:42 a.m. near Front Street when a northbound Toyota travelling well below the speed limit switched lanes in front of a Chevrolet Silverado, resulting in a rear-end collision.

A Nissan Juke was then struck by the Toyota, and then both vehicles were struck by a Ford Fusion.

The driver of the Fusion exited the vehicle and then, according to authorities, fell from the median. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Toyota’s driver and one passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and were transported to the hospital.

No other injuries are reported in the accident.
