News: Two teenagers killed after two-vehicle crash south of St Joseph
BUCHANAN COUNTY, MO – A head-on collision killed two St. Joseph teenagers and injured two other people near St. Joseph early Friday morning.
According to the MSHP, the accident occurred close to 6:10 a.m. on Route A close to Route O when a northbound Chevrolet 3500 crossed into the oncoming lane and struck a southbound Ford Fiesta after both drivers attempted to avoid the collision.
The fatalities include two male passengers in the Ford, ages 14 and 19, who were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford, 20-year-old Alexis Lewis, was airlifted to KU Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 46-year-old Joshua Gladieux of Leavenworth, Kansas, sustained minor injuries and did not receive medical attention from responders.
