News: Driver injured after being side-swiped by semi on I-35
JOHNSON COUNTY, KS – A man was seriously injured on Monday afternoon when a semi-truck side-swiped his vehicle on Interstate 35, KIBW reports.
The accident occurred close to 1:25 p.m near the 229.9 mile marker when a Peterbilt semi-truck changed lanes in slowing traffic and merged into a lane occupied by a Lexus, crashing into the vehicle.
The Lexus’ driver, Lenaxa resident Sharon Kaye McIntosh, 43, was taken to Saint Luke’s hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the semi, 34-year-old Joseph Russel Jackson of Colorado Springs, was reportedly uninjured.
