CLAY COUNTY, MO – Two people were hurt in a head-on collision in Clay County Tuesday morning after wet pavement caused both drivers to lose control of their vehicles.

According to the MSHP, the crash took place on Interstate 35 close to 5:35 a.m. when the driver of a southbound GMC crashed head-on into a southbound Lexus that was disabled after having been spun around to face the opposite direction.

Eric Smith of Liberty, also 52, was the driver of the GMC that was moderately damaged in the crash. Smith was reportedly uninjured.
