News: Crash injures three in Clay County after failure to yield

CLAY COUNTY, MO – A failure-to-yield accident injured three people on US 69 in Clay County Thursday morning, reports the MSHP.

The accident took place close to 5:41 a.m. near Summersette Road when a Southbound Ford Escape driven by 71-year-old Charity Adams of Kearney failed to yield to a Toyota Tundra driven by 63-year-old Patrick Burke of Excelsior Springs.

Both drivers and one passenger were all taken to Liberty Hospital for their injuries.
Adams was seriously injured, while her passenger, 71-year-old Craig Adams, sustained moderate injuries.

Burke’s injuries were reported to be minor.

Both vehicles were totaled in the wreck.
