News: Two injured in rear-end crash with semi truck in Johnson County

JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – A rear-end collision involving a semi truck on US-50 near Centerview hospitalized two people on Wednesday morning, reports the MSHP.

The accident happened on US 50 and Northwest 361 Road at approximately 7:38 a.m. when a westbound International 8100 truck decelerated to make a turn and was struck from behind by a Chevrolet 2500 pickup.

The driver of the semi, 19-year-old Dillon Staton of Carrollton, was taken by responders to Western Missouri Medical Center with serious injuries.

The Chevrolet’s driver, 60-year-old Damon Hercules of Holt, was taken to the hospital by private vehicle to be treated for minor injuries.
