News Update: Fatality victim in Polk Country crash was school superintendent
POLK COUNTY, MO – A crash in Polk County killed a local superintendent and injured two teenagers on Wednesday, which was the first day of the school year.
The Kansas City Star reports that the crash occurred close to 7:15 a.m. when a Ford F-150 crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Volkswagen Jetta.
Dadeville School District’s superintendent Matthew Bushey, the driver of the Jetta, was pronounced dead at the scene by responders.
The two teenaged occupants of the F-150 were both hospitalized. The 16-year-old driver was airlifted to an area hospital while the 17-year-old was transported elsewhere by ambulance. The severity of their injuries is unreported.
