News: Pedestrian critically hurt in crash near Eastwood Elementary was school crossing guard

KANSAS CITY, MO – A crossing guard was seriously injured in Kansas City on Wednesday morning when they were hit by a car, reports KCTV 5.

The crash took place close to 8:30 a.m. on Sycamore Avenue close to Eastwood Elementary when a car struck the victim.

The driver, who was not reportedly injured, remained at the scene after responders arrived.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time.
