News: Child and driver hurt when car strikes embankment in Ray County
RAY COUNTY, MO – Two people, including one 7-year-old, were hurt in a single-vehicle crash in Ray County on Friday morning, reports the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred close to 7:10 a.m. at the crossing of Route C and Route D when a Lincoln Towncar bypassed a stop sign and ran into an embankment.
The driver, 80-year-old Everett W. Downs of Holt, and a 7-year-old male passenger in the vehicle both suffered moderate injuries. Downs was taken to Liberty Hospital, while the child was transported to Excelsior Springs Hospital.
