News: KHP officer hurt in head-on with runaway suspect in Overland Park
KANSAS CITY, KS – A Kansas Highway Patrol trooper was injured when his vehicle was struck by a fleeing suspect in Kansas City on Thursday morning, reports KSHB.
The incident began when a speeding Acura was sighted by a KHP trooper around 6 a.m. in the area of I-435 and Roe. The vehicle fled from the trooper through several residential streets.
The trooper continued pursuit and was struck head-on by the suspect vehicle at 103rd and U.S. 69. After that, the suspect was pursued to 67th and Frontage where he attempted to flee on foot before being apprehended.
Only minor injuries were reported.
