News: One killed, two hospitalized after driver fleeing arrest crashes in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO – A crash caused by a runaway driver killed one person and hospitalized two others in Kansas City on Sunday morning.

FOX 4 KC reports that the incident began close to 3 a.m. at Truman Road and Grand Boulevard when an officer attempted to stop a Cadillac that was seen doing ‘doughnuts’ in the intersection.

The driver drove away on Grand until they crashed into a parked Chevrolet Silverado near the intersection of 12th Street and Grand. The Chevrolet was forced into striking one light pole while the Cadillac continued on to strike a light pole and catch fire on an opposite corner.

The fatality victim was an identified passenger in the Cadillac who was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Cadillac’s driver was critically injured. The driver of the Chevrolet suffered life-threatening injuries.
