News: Construction worker, 35, dead after getting struck by hit-and-run driver in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, MO – A 35-year-old man’s life was claimed after getting struck by a hit-and-run driver along I-49 Highway around 1:30 am Saturday. 

A driver of a 2010 Ford F-150 was driving in a construction zone, and hit a construction worker before leaving his vehicle, FOX 4 KC reported. 

The construction worker was identified as Jonathan Wilson. 

Wilson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.  

The hit-and-run driver was later found and arrested for a DWI, involuntary manslaughter, endangering a highway worker, and fleeing the scene of a crash. The 24-year-old man’s name was not stated. However, he is being held at the Cass County Jail, where his bail is set at $250,000.
