News: 28-year-old man dead, 5-year-old boy injured from pickup truck, combine crash in Lawrence
DOUGLAS COUNTY, KS – A 5-year-old boy was hospitalized, and a 28-year-old man was left dead after a crash between a pickup truck and a combine in Lawrence Saturday.
The collision occurred at the 500 block of East 1100 Road before 4:30 pm, The Lawrence Times reported.
The Dodge Ram pickup truck driver was traveling in the road’s southbound lane when he hit the combine in the northbound lane.
No injuries were reported for the driver of the combine.
The pickup truck driver had a five-year-old boy with him at the time of the crash. The boy was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive.
Police identified the driver of the Dodge Ram as 28-year-old Abraham Blanco from Overland Park.
Blanco succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
