News: Man, 30, dead after crashing into pickup truck with trailer in Welda

WELDA, KS – Speeding and not wearing a seat belt contributed to a 30-year-old man’s death in Welda Monday. 

The collision occurred at US Highway 169 and Southwest Missouri Road before 4:45 p.m., FOX 4 KC reported. 

The driver of a Ford Escort did not slow down when it was approaching a Ford F-350 hauling a trailer. 

The driver of the Ford F-350 was turning when the driver of the Ford Escort struck them. 

The driver of the Ford F-350 was unharmed. However, Dakota R. Kirkland, the driver of the Ford Escort, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
