News: Two women injured after getting hit by another driver on I-35 South in Liberty
CLAY COUNTY, MO – First responders were called to a two-vehicle crash on I-35 South around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in Liberty.
For reasons unknown, a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee hit the back of a 1995 Honda Civic, according to the MSHP Traffic Report Page.
The Jeep driver was identified as Anthony L Byrd, 39, of Kansas City, Missouri. Byrd was not unharmed.
Two women, one driver, and one passenger from the Honda sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The driver was 73-year-old Elizabeth F Rocha of Kansas City. The passenger was Venita R Mustafa, 51, of Orlando, Florida.
Rocha was taken to North Kansas City Hospital, and Mustafa declined medical treatment.
It is unclear if Byrd was impaired or under the influence of alcohol or drugs or will face charges.
