News: Toodler dead after getting struck by pickup truck near Helvely Park Lake in Smithville

CLAY COUNTY, MO – A three-year-old girl was left dead after getting struck by a 2014 Ford F150 in Smithville Friday. 

The collision happened before 11:15 p.m on Jolisa Court., the MSHP Traffic Report Page revealed. The pickup truck driver was reversing when he struck the three-year-old girl. 

The driver was identified as 33-year-old Lacy D James. James was unharmed, and troopers did not indicate charges. 

The girl was transported to North Kansas City Hospital, where she died from her injuries.
