News: 60-year-old man injured after getting hit by car in Lee’s Summit

JACKSON COUNTY, MO – A pedestrian was hospitalized after getting hit by a car on US-50 in Lee’s Summit before 6 p.m. Sunday. 

A 60-year-old man was on the road, removing a dead deer he had hit, according to the MSHP Traffic Report Page. A driver of a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 was approaching and did not stop for traffic nearby. As a result, he lost control of his vehicle and struck the man. 

The 60-year-old man was identified as Steven R Prettyman. 

Prettyman was transported to Research Medical Center for moderate injuries. His current condition is unknown. 

The driver of the 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 was identified as 19-year-old George T Jobe. 

Jobe was unharmed.
