News: 2 hurt in 3-vehicle crash on I-470 in Lee’s Summit

LEE’S SUMMIT, MO – A 27-year-old and 73-year-old man were hospitalized following a crash on the northbound lanes of I-470 Wednesday. 

Missouri State Troopers responded to the scene around 12:45 p.m., according to the MSHP Live Traffic report page

For reasons unknown, a driver of a 2016 Jeep Cherokee traveled off the road and hit a parked 2018 Dodge Charger. The impact caused the Dodge Charger to crash into a 2023 Volkswagen Atlas. 

The Volkswagen driver was unharmed. However, the Jeep driver, Tommy Johnson, 73, and Dodge Charger driver Jose Medina, 27, were taken to Centerpoint Hospital for unspecified, moderate injuries.
